Logon & Token Handling Flow

In version 3.0, we’ve updated the logon flow and token handling to optimize performance and align with SAP best practices. As a result, users will encounter a new login screen when signing in.

  • Enter your email and password to sign in for the first time
  • Want to stay signed in? Tick the box and tap Yes.
  • Your data will download automatically. Keep the app open until it's done.

Initial Synchronization &
User Data Filtering

In version 3.0, the multi-site concept has been removed. This guide shows you how to select relevant plants during setup for smarter data filtering and faster initial synchronization.

  • Set up 'My Sleections' by selecting the plants that's relevant to your daily work.
  • Review the number of work orders and notifications. Tap Apply Selections to start the download.
  • A progress bar shows the sync status. My Work loads first so you can start using the app right away.
  • When sync is done, you’ll see Sync Update Completed at the bottom.

Set Up ‘My Selections’ Using Planner Groups and Plant Sections

The guide shows how to edit 'My Selections' filters using Planner Groups and Plant Sections to refine your data scope. Selected plants define the top-level scope, while Planner Groups and Plant Sections let you narrow down the data even further.

  • Select the plants you want to see data for.
  • Based on the selected plants, choose the relevant Planner Groups and Plant Sections.
  • Tap ‘Apply Selections’ to synchronize the filters.

Language Support

Learn how our app supports multiple languages. In version 3.0, your selected app language also determines the language pulled from SAP, if translations are available. We currently support English, German, Spanish, Swedish, and Danish.

  • Tap Change Language to select a different language.
  • The app uses your device’s default supported language. Tap your preferred language to switch.
  • Tap FastWork to return. A short progress bar will appear while the language updates.

Create Notification

Learn how to easily create a maintenance notification from your device using data from your SAP system. This guide walks you through an example using the ‘Assignee’ and ‘Reported by’ fields and shows how to add attachments. Please note that field availability and requirements may vary depending on your SAP configuration. Presets can be adjusted if needed.

  • Open Notifications, then search or scan to select the technical object.
  • Set the notification type, add a title and description, and select the priority.
  • Enter details like work center, assignee, reporter, and optional status or coding.
  • Add items, photos, or documents if needed, then tap Create Notification.

Convert Notification to an Order

Learn how to easily convert a notification into a work order directly from the app using the information already provided in the notification.

  • Open the notification and review the information
  • Tap convert to order & fill in order details
  • Confirm the conversion and a confirmation message appears

  • Navigate to the Order section and select the relevant order.
  • Swipe left on the relevant operation to start create a follow-on order.

Start an Operation Using 'Start Timer'

Learn how to start an operation and register your working time directly in the app using the add timer function. This makes it easy to confirm the actual time spent on your work immediately after completing the operation.

  • Open the work order and scroll to the operation section
  • Press 'Start Timer" to start the operation with time confirmation
  • Use the 'Stop' buttom to stop the operation and create time confirmation

New Outbox button

An Outbox button has been added to the home screen to give you quick access to requests that haven’t been fully submitted to SAP. The Outbox provides an overview of all pending items and displays error messages explaining why each request failed, helping you identify what needs to be corrected before resubmitting.

  • Open the Outbox to view requests that haven’t been submitted to SAP.
  • Check the error message to understand why each request failed.
  • Review the issue and take the necessary action to resolve it.

View Classification & Characteristics Data

Your classification data helps describe technical objects (such as equipment or functional locations) using a set of predefined characteristics grouped under a class. This data is now easily accessible in the Details screen of each technical object within the FastWork app, making it easier to view key specifications like power, pressure, manufacturer, or installation year directly on your device.

  • Navigate to the relevant technical object.
  • Tap the Details screen and scroll down to the Classification section.
  • Tap to open the Classification data and view the listed characteristics.

Timeline - New Filter Options

New filter options are available in the technical object Timeline overview, allowing you to include or exclude substructure and attachments, and sort by specific order types.

  • Navigate to the specific technical object and open the Timeline overview.
  • Use the new filters to enable or disable substructure and attachments, and to sort the timeline by specific order types.
  • Adjust the filters to control how your timeline is sorted and what should be included or excluded from the view.

Role Concept in the App

With the new role concept in the app, customers can now assign role-based user menus to control what each user can view and do, making it easier to tailor and streamline the user experience.

  • Identify the needs and tasks of each end user in the app.

  • Assign role-based menus to match the user’s needs and streamline their experience.

Reassignment of Work on User Level

Assign or reassign work at the individual user level directly from each operation form. Assignment details are shown in the app, and fields can be set as optional or mandatory for flexible task management.

  • Create/Edit notification: Reported by field (allows free text entry)
  • Convert to order: Assignee and operation assignee
  • Edit order: Assignee
  • Create/Edit operation: Operation assignee

Wildcard Search in components

Wildcard search by the use of * or ? is possible when searching for components. The * is used when you know only some of the name. The ? is used for each of the missing characters. The wildcard search works on both letters and numbers.

  • The * wildcard is used when only part of a component name is known.
  • The ? wildcard replaces individual missing characters.
  • Wildcard search applies to both letters and numbers in component names.

Time confirmation with calculate button 

On the “add time screen” there will be button “calculate”. This button calculates actual work, when you change the “Start date” and "End date”. This means that you dont have to calculate your own time used.

  • The “Calculate” button is available on the “Add Time” screen.
  • It automatically calculates actual work time based on the selected Start Date and End Date.
  • Users do not need to manually calculate their time spent.

Work Center - reintroduction under my settings

It is now possible to se your work center or work centers under your settings screen.

This means that you can filter your “my work” section based on your chosen work center, without having to set the work center in all three lists individually.

  • Set your Work Center in the same way you set your Plant under User Settings.
  • Filters your “My Work” section according to your chosen Work Center.
  • Apply the filter in one step instead of in every list for a smoother and more intuitive experience.
  • The Work Center filter only applies to My Work lists — your My Selection view will still display all notification and all orders based on your selected Plant.

The order completion process has been redesigned to provide a smoother and more intuitive user experience when filling out notifications items.

  • Improved map performance for faster loading and smoother navigation.
  • Enhanced visual indicators for quicker identification of object types and statuses.

Filtering options in notifications and orders have been improved to make it easier and faster to find exactly what you need.

  • Apply or reset filters directly within the view for a smoother workflow.
  • More user-friendly and intuitive filter interface.
  • Save time by quickly narrowing down large lists of orders or notifications via the count in the bottom of the filters screen.
  • Clearer visual feedback when filters are active or reset.
